"He's our Binamu, bro."
―Asani to Ndugu.

Binamu is the deuteragonist of Disney's upcoming animated feature film The Continent. He is an adolescent lion who is the maternal cousin of Asani and Ndugu, who often hangs out with his older cousin, treating him as his best friend.

Background[]

When Binamu was a young cub living in a territory of other lions led by their king, Khamani, and raised by his parents, Khari and Dalila, he would learn to bond with their nephew, Asani who is his older cousin, the son of Saifa and Omari who are Dalila's older sister and brother-in-law, and would become his best friend, despite the fact that Binamu wasn't mature enough to help around, and prefer that Asani was better off without him, but would always look up to him, cause they are both family and blood.

Personality[]

Unlike Asani who grew up and was raised to become a fearless and brave lion in the future, Binamu's parents didn't bother to find his purpose, which would turn him into a rowdy and free-spirited slacker that enjoys having fun with other lions, including his cousin who would often become annoyed by his recklessness alongside his parents.

Physical appearances[]

Binamu is inspired by both Taka/Young Scar in Mufasa: The Lion King and Kovu from The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and The Lion Guard. He was moderately sized, albeit slightly thin and weakly built. He had a bleached grayish-tan coat, with a white muzzle and yellow eyes. Upon growing into an adolescent, Binamu became larger and more well-built, though he remained shorter, smaller, and slighter than his cousin, Asani. He also gained a short dark gray mane.

Appearances[]

The Continent[]

Binamu was alongside Asani and other adolescent lions training for hunting by chasing a herd of impalas.
