Bodger is a wise, old bull terrier. He is very loyal and obedient to his owner named Peter, a teenage boy who loves him very dearly. Given his age, he sees the way of a dog as his own law. His pet comrades are Luath, a young, immature Labrador retriever and Tao, a Siamese cat.

Bodger was played by a girl dog. In some scenes, the nipples on the dog's belly could be seen.
