"It's time once again to play 'Journey to Blue', the game where Blue hides and Sandy seeks!"
―The announcer at the beginning of each segment

Journey to Blue is a recurring segment which focuses on Sandy the Starfish's hide-and-seek game with Blue. It premiered in Season 1 of the Wonderful World of Disney reboot and features a new computer-animated design for Blue which is later used in Blue's Clues & You!. It is a parody of the Sesame Street segment Journey to Ernie. The segment is notable as in each occurence, Blue can talk like in Blue's Room (she is voiced by Grey Griffin rather than Victoria Pontecorvo).

In the original format, Blue hid inside a box resembling her playroom. Sandy had to locate Blue's box, a task she usually accomplished after finding two other, similar boxes which did not contain Blue. Sandy's discovery of an incorrect box triggered a non-Blue sketch or film while the revelation of the correct box launched a segment prominently featuring Blue. The sequences in the original format are repeated in other ''Journey to Blue'' sketches during season 1, in different sequence orders. With the exceptions of the introduction and closing, each sequence ended with Sandy finding Blue. These parts were edited from sketches that showed these sequences as the first and second sequences.

Starting with the 2016 special Outdoor Adventures, the format was changed. The segments began with Blue interrupting Sandy's normal routine with a challenge to play the game. This time, Blue no longer hides in a box. Sandy now searches based on clues from Blue, and Green Puppy appears regularly as part of a running gag where she points both left and right after Sandy asked her where Blue is. The new format also featured a closing song sung by Sandy and Blue at the end of every segment, called We Found Blue. With this new format, the segments sometimes begin during the main plot.

The segment as shown in Hide and Seek with Blue.

A segment is also featured at the end of the Blue's Clues & You! episode Hide and Seek with Blue, where it is referred as Journey to Josh and Blue and doesn't have Blue talking like a human (she only uses her regular dog voice, done by Traci Page Johnson). This time, Tickety Tock, Sidetable Drawer, Magenta, Mailbox, Cinnamon, Shovel, and Pail replace Sandy, and they look for Josh and Blue in the living room. It turns out Josh and Blue are hiding behind the best hiding spot - the Thinking Chair. Due to its short length, the Blue's Clues & You-exclusive segment doesn't feature the announcer announcing that it's time to play "Journey to Josh and Blue" nor the We Found Josh and Blue song.

The 2022 edition of The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration contains the longest game of Journey to Blue to date. After the opening number which consists of “Such a Night,” “My Favorite Things,” and “I Gotta Feeling”, hosts Derek Hough and Julianne Hough hear the announcer announcing that it's time to play "Journey to Blue" and question what it is. Then Blue hops past them, looking for a place to hide as Derek wonders where Blue could be hiding this time. It then segues to Sandy counting to 10 and saying "Ready or not, here we come!". Throughout the special, Sandy looks for Blue all around Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California, and at the end, it turns out that Blue is hiding behind the clock tower on Cinderella Castle the whole time.

The original format returned for the 2022 cartoon short The Santa Clause 3.5.. This time, Sandy - and Josh - had to locate Blue's box, which also contains the third clue.
