Moana 2 is an upcoming American computer-animated musical-adventure-comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is the sequel to Moana. It will be the 63rd animated feature in the Disney Animated Canon. It is scheduled to be released on November 27, 2024.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ epic animated musical Moana 2 takes audiences on an expansive new voyage with Moana, Maui and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.

In 2020, a sequel to Moana was announced in the form of an animated series that was set to debut on Disney+. This was eventually retooled into a theatrical feature film.[1]
On February 7, 2024, Bob Iger announced that a sequel to Moana was in development, and that it would be released on November 27, 2024.[2]
