Quote

Mother Goose is Ludwig Von Drake's grandmother, who appeared in the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color episode The Truth About Mother Goose (first aired in 1963).

In the episode, centered around the classic "Mother Goose rhymes", Ludwig brags about the famous author Mother Goose being his own grandmother. She is seen sitting in her rocking chair on a painting in her grandson's library, along with Ludwig himself as a child and the latter's "childhood companion", Herman the Bootle Beetle.

Trivia[]

  • An earlier idea of Disney's personification of Mother Goose was visualized in the Silly SymphonyMother Goose Melodies.
  • Although her name suggests that she is a goose, she looks very similar in appearance to her grandson Ludwig, who is a duck.
