Patrick Swayze (August 18, 1952 - September 14, 2009) was an American actor, dancer, and singer-songwriter who is best known for his roles as Johnny Castle in the 1987 romance film Dirty Dancing and as Sam Wheat in the 1990 romantic fantasy film Ghost.

In 1995, he played the role of Pecos Bill in Disney's Tall Tale. He voiced Cash in the 2006 Disney direct-to-DVD film, The Fox and the Hound 2. He also played Jack Charles in Father Hood.

Swayze died of pancreatic cancer on September 14, 2009 at the age of 57. He was cremated and his ashes scattered over his New Mexico ranch. He is survived by his widow Lisa Niemi, along with his mother, both of his brothers, and one sister.
