Sam Trahern is the protagonist of Disney's upcoming animated feature film Starcruiser. He is a young adult U.S. Marine who must search for his father Scott by joining forces with aliens and droids to battle an empire ruled by an emperor who seeks revenge on his mentor Joseph Xandau.
Background[]
Sam Trahern was born to Scott Trahern and Leah Clarke. While his maternal family, the Clarkes were deeply normal and broke, his paternal family, the Traherns has been serving and protecting their country for decades, enlisting and joining the armies of the United States of America, fighting both Vietnam and Afghanistan, making their last names a legacy to their beloved country. When his mother wanted him to have normal life and a job while they living in the streets of New York, Sam decided to follow his father's footsteps and one day join the army to keep his family's legacy alive, only to annoy and disappoint his mother and the family of her blood.
When his father became an astronaut, and was ready to travel through the galaxy and be the last person to take one small step on the moon, Sam's life went upside down after the ship went out of control and Scott got missing, leaving Sam heartbroken and worried, even when his mother sadly and angrily ignored comforting vows from him.
Personality[]
He can also be considered irritated by his mother who disproves him from joining the army to follow his father's footsteps and continue his family's legacy when she was stubborn and drunk due to Scott's absence. Frustrated and disgusted by his mother, Sam turned his back on her and hasn't spoken to her for a long time, but later begin to feel very guilty after she died of disappointment and blamed himself for turning on her, thus making god and other late family members disappointed at a man who turns on his blood.

Despite being inspired by and based on young Luke Skywalker from Star Wars original trilogy, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Sam Trahern bares strong remembrances to Han Solo both as adolescent in Solo: A Star Wars Story and as an adult in the original trilogy.

On September 20, Sam was arriving to a small village in Tunisia alongside the other fellow soldiers, including the stoic one, Kyle McWarth searching for five terrorists who were planting bombs and trapping the villagers to die.

After his revival and still stranded in outer space alongside his friends who were still working on how to get ship to work, Sam was resting and taking a nap in a room with Desmet in his arms, looking through the window, regretting and blaming himself for letting Calibrex escape and wonders how he will ever make it back to earth. Priya entered the room checking on her fiancé, seeing if he was doing well. But Sam wasn't in a good mood, despite of being brought back to life, because he actually let his nemesis get away so he could eliminate and destroy his home world. Priya warmly comforts him, stating that none of it was ever his fault.
Sam was ready to make it up with his friends leaves the room, reporting everyone to where he was standing.
